African Luxury Villa with Pool in Zanzibar

Ideal for Families, Mature Tropical Garden

Our personal review (visited 2012)

Probably one of the first established up-market villa on the island of Zanzibar with a mature tropical garden. The well maintained tropical villa is ideal for 2-3 families or a larger group of friends but also for 2 couples who wish to enjoy a spacious house in total privacy.

A short drive through the local fishing village brought us to the wooden gate of the property. We were welcomed with refreshing towels and a tasteful blend of tropical fruit juice whilst being introduced to the staff.

Without us noticing, the staff already brought our luggage to our rooms allowing us to absorb the beauty of this small oasis that has been created by an undulating pool lined with the odd large rock and stone slabs amongst tropical trees and flowers. Beyond the pool a wooden hand carved Zanzibarian door caught our attention and temped us to discover where it lead to. However, the resident manager stopped our stride and casually stated the best is for last, prompting us to see the interior of the villa.

Sleeping arrangements: The upper floor of the left wing has two bedrooms interconnected by a walk-through wardrobe. The large bedroom has a double bed with sea view and a private balcony whilst the interconnecting bedroom has two single beds and a door that leads onto a third bedroom with a single bed, which is actually a mezzanine that overlooks the living/dining area on the ground floor. Back down from the upper floor of this wing is another bedroom with a double bed and private veranda. The whole wing shares a large bathroom by the stairs and entrance to this wing.

The right wing accommodates a spacious master bedroom with a very large bathroom and walk-in wardrobe and a private balcony on the upper floor, whilst a second large bedroom with en-suite bathroom is situated on the ground floor with it's own
independent entrance via the veranda.

In other words, the villa can sleep comfortably 3 couples and 5 children + 1 or 2 babies that can sleep in locally made baby cots.

The service is professional and discreet.

Included: 3 meals daily (menu to be discussed with your private chef), daily cleaning (all linen and towels provided), pool attendant, gardener, security guards.
